Hole #3:-
As per Ken Kearney's recommendations above, most of the bunkers on the 3rd hole have been remodelled in situ, with the exception of the back right greenside bunker, which was to be removed and converted into a grassy hollow (although much less severe as the one now in evidence at the 1st hole!).
The bunkers were first dug out to expose and clear the existing drainage, before being reshaped and contoured to encourage water to be diverted around or away from the bunkers, which will minimise washouts and contamination of the sand after heavy rainfall in future.
Next, the new shape for each of the bunkers was marked out by a revetted turf edge, before the surrounds were topsoiled and prepared for turfing.
(1) Bunker short of the green, with revetted edge laid out and the new liner then installed and turf laid down:-
(2) Left hand greenside bunker, with revetted edge laid out and the new liner then installed and turf laid down:-
(3) Right hand greenside bunker, with revetted edge laid out and the new liner then installed and turf laid down:-
Again, the finished product on this hole looks excellent and the new sand stands out nicely from a distance, i.e. when playing your approach shot to the green - as can be seen in the photos below.
Hole #4 summary to follow next.
