Course Info

Malone is a fine championship course situated on 330 acres of undulating wooded parkland. Its 27 holes of secluded gently undulating parkland countryside is just 5 miles from Belfast City centre. The centre piece of the course is the beautiful natural trout lake which extends for some 25 acres. The course is a real challenge with mature trees shaping many of the holes with the lake first comes into play on the 13th. Beware the 15th where the tee shot to a tricky undulating green is over water all the way. Also the 18th is daunting where almost any ball to the right of the green is water bound. Navigate the course here and get a taste of what you can expect when you play!

Head down towards the Lagan, and enjoy a testing nine holes, with each having its own attractions. The character changes with the seasons, as the bounce of the ball is affected by the moisture in the ground. Watch out for the seventh – the hardest hole on the course.

Discretion with your tee shot is needed. A fairway wood or long iron is advised. Right of centre will open up your second shot to this subtly two-tiered green.

The back nine is dominated by the beautiful lake and surrounding vegetation. The par threes are a challenge and the thirteenth is the second hardest hole on the course. But watch out for the eighteenth – many cards have been spoilt at this demanding last.

Named after the village across the river, this nine is testing both in skill and energy as it is the hilliest of the three nines. A couple of sharp doglegs and water and the river in play make this nine a great choice.
